Senior Project Manager
Typical Accountabilities:
• The Senior Application Engineer will adhere and promote the use of AstraZeneca’s Software Development Lifecycle methodology and practices, and will be familiar with applications/infrastructure that their solutions will impact.
• Identify issues with current processes and provide input on proposed changes to enhance effectiveness of IT
• Provides technical expertise to project and IT change implementation teams working on the development, configuration, testing, release, maintenance, and improvement of IT applications, and/or designs
• Provides input into business cases, Request for Proposals, supplier selection, and evaluation of proposals
• Works with supplier project teams to ensure effective interoperability of services and technologies and assures alignment of application designs with AstraZeneca standards, policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements
• Reviews third party supplier impact assessments and delivery. Reports high-level risks to management
• Works with business analysis roles to draw out, understand and validate business and functional requirements needed to ensure required service effects
• Leads, Coaches, or mentors other Application Engineers in defining business IT applications, ensuring alignment with business strategies and priorities, as well as the target benefits, value expected and established AstraZeneca standards and security policies
• Identifies new hardware/software technologies to fit specialised business needs and configurations
• Leads the configuration and testing of IT applications as required from conceptualisation through to stabilisation using various computer platforms
• Conducts performance analysis and documents application components
• Leads investigations of problems within existing IT applications and in coordination with other teams carry out support and maintenance of applications, incident/problem identification and resolution using ITIL methods and processes
• Capturing qualitative and quantitative testing evidence for reporting
• Involvement in scheduling and estimation activities
• Experience in Service Delivery and insights into Service Delivery KPIs like SLA, MTTR
• Utilize Service Management KPIs and metric results to drive continuous improvement efforts and maintain continuity of service level commitments

• Approximate number of people managed in total (all levels) - 0
What is the global remit? (how many countries will the role operate in?):
• 2 or 3 countries at a minimum of 40% of time
Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• Essential: Degree level education in computer science or similar; Prior experience in an Information Services/Information Technology environment with good business acumen; Proven experience of managing relationships with 3rd party suppliers; Experience with multiple different types software risks
• Desirable: Experience of working within a quality and compliance environment and application of policies, procedures and guidelines; ITIL Certification (foundation); Customer Experience
Skills and Capabilities:
• Essential: Evidence of designing, shaping and implementing innovative solutions and driving any changes; Ability to interpret and communicate technical information into business language; Expertise in Agile Software Development techniques and Methodologies; Expertise in Web and Mobile Application Engineering; Expertise in application design patterns and processes; Expertise in Continuous Integration and Deployment methods delivered as part of an agile team
• Desirable: Good commercial awareness and understanding of the external market; Demonstrate initiative, strong customer orientation, and cross-cultural working; Demonstrate initiative, strong customer orientation, and cross-cultural working; Agile Engineering Practices
